joe hinted at this a while back, and we're happy to announce that the first of two new JS signature products are hitting the streets! joe's done some original artwork and teamed up with planet waves to bring some great straps and picks to y'all.

as if that wasn't enough of a holiday gift, we're going to bring you to the exclusive launch gig with a webcast that will air in early february. more news on that as it gets closer!

JS Signature Straps and Picks from Planet Waves

Planet Waves, in collaboration with Joe Satriani, have announced the release of the JS signature strap and pick collection, inspired by Joe’s artwork, and his famous guitars. For the first time ever, fans can take home artwork from Joe’s personal sketchbooks, permanently woven into pro-quality guitar straps and printed onto celluloid picks.

"I am very excited about the launch of the JS/Planet Waves line featuring straps and picks with original artwork. They look cool and work great,” says Joe. “On stage and in the studio I've been using D'Addario's magnificent strings for decades—they are simply the best. Together, Planet Waves and D'Addario make fantastic tools for musicians and I'm proud to contribute their product line."

The JS strap collection features 5 straps, with names like “Up in Flames” and “Souls of Distortion.” The picks are available in black with silver printing or white with black printing in thin, medium and heavy (Joe’s favorite) gauges. Each 10-pack of picks includes 10 different picks, each with a different original sketch. Rumor has it, Joe and Planet Waves are cooking up some other new gear inventions for release this summer!

JS NAMM Appearance, Performance and Web-Cast!

Joe and Planet Waves will officially launch the line at the Anaheim NAMM show at a private concert event during the show. The great news is, the concert will be Web-cast for Joe’s fans here at Satriani.com in early February! Stay tuned to the site for more details.

Joe will also appear at the Planet Waves/D’Addario booth #4834 in Hall C of the Anaheim NAMM show on Saturday, January 21 at 1:30 PM.

The new DVD and CD "G3 Live in Tokyo" featuring Steve Vai, John Petrucci and yours truly is set for an October 25th release. This one looks and sounds so incredibly good, we are all very excited about it. The discs features original sets from all three of us as well as a
great jam at the end, all captured one magical night in Tokyo, Japan,
earlier this year.

We've also included a bonus feature DVD with footage from the sound check complete with separate commentary from Steve, John and myself. Come to think of it, I have no idea what the other guys talked about! So, I guess I'll be as surprised as all of you!

The last two months have seen me working away at writing and recording material for the next CD release. This new project has got the coolest new guitar sounds, and the strangest juxtapositions of grooves and textures. I'm having a great time playing guitar, bass and keys and thinking outside the usual convention. Jeff Campitelli and Simon Philips are handling the drum duties with Mike Fraser recording and
mixing. We hope to be finished by Christmas for a March release. I haven't chosen the title yet, but rest assured I'll let you know when
the time is right.

The next few months will see some changes to the website as we get closer to the new CD release, please let us know if there are any
elements you would like to see us incorporate into the satriani.com experience.

We are pleased to announce the October 25th theatrical release and digital cinema world premier of the G3 “Live In Tokyo” concert DVD! These electrifying live performances were recorded on May 8th at the Tokyo Forum, when Satriani brought his popular G3 tour to Japan for a series of sold-out dates. Fans attending the packed-house shows were treated to individual sets by each six-stringer, followed by an evening-ending all-star jam session These movie theatre screenings will mark a release event for the concert DVD, which will arrive in retail stores the same day. The DVD will be available for purchase at each cinema screening the film. “Live In Tokyo” will be presented in theatres in high definition and employ Dolby 5.1 Digital Surround Sound to enhance the audience experience. “We are delighted to work directly with Epic Records and our theatre partners to deliver the G3 concert and create an Event for the DVD’s release.” said Michael J. St. Clair, President of Pillar Entertainment. “With the technically proficient nature of these guitarists, it makes perfect sense to have their material presented in cinema grade high definition with a 5.1 theatrical mix created especially for this event.” Following is a list of cinemas screening this special event. All shows begin at 8:00pm Eastern/Central/Pacific. Admission is $12:

As Joe prepares to go into the studio for the next album you may be wondering how you'll get your Joe fix until the new album is done... Well we've got just ticket for you, especially if your a video game fan.

Les Paul's 90th Birthday Party
I just got back from Les Paul's 90th birthday party at Carnegie Hall, NYC. It featured a host of great players including Les himself, and was a great night filled with amazing performances. I'll get some photos up a soon as I can. Happy Birthday Les! Joe

JSX Live
It seems there are questions about my live amp set up, here it is: JS1000's into a pedal board, old school style, with: 535 wah, RMC custom wah, Boss Harmony Machine, Boss DS-1, Barber Burn Unit, Fulltone Ultimate Octave, Fulltone, Deja Vibe, Digitech Whammy, Boss DE-2. On to the front of a JSX head, high input, by Mike offstage. Mike actually has two heads stacked and ready to switch in case of unforseen problems. I have two delays running in the effects loop as well. A single JSX head powers 2 JSX 4x12 bottoms. Sitting on top of those heads are 2 more JSX back-ups, plugged in, turned on, but, not running any speaker cabs. Sometimes, space permitting, we put a third cabinet on stage. We travel with four. Those of you who have been part of the Platinum package groups have seen this set up when attending sound check and have had a walk on stage. This a mono set up. When out of the USA I use local Peavey JSX gear. Here in Mumbai, where I am today, I will use a local JSX amp and speakers, and leave it here in India when the tour is over. It's a dream come true to have my signature series gear meet me whever I am in the world and always sound so great. Much love to my Peavey buddies(:?)... Joe
