MORE FAN PHOTOS UPLOADED
Yup, I know y'all have
been waiting very (and sometimes not so) patientlyfor the latest batch of
fan photos from the past few months to get onto the site. Well, I'm happy
to announce that I've made my way through the hundreds of emails with

It's February, 2005 and we are gearing up for another exciting year of live shows and recording! But, did you know that the Peavey JSX head won Amp of the Year at this year's NAMM show? Well it did! And we managed to release the combo version at the show as well. The new combo comes in a 2x12 enclosure and has added reverb and a half power switch for extra tonal possibilities. At the Ibanez booth, which had the most amazing three story Ultra Man figure presiding over the whole affair, we released the new JS Chrome guitar. It's a limited edition specially plated wood JS1000, with an added phase switch just for fun. Get 'em while you can! Oh yeah, you must check out the new book on the history of Ibanez. It's a fantastic book that tells the whole story and is filled with photos of guitars, artists and all the cool people who make and have made the Hoshino company what it is today. Now that I'm officially cured of my pneumonia I'm eager to get back to rockin' out! Thanks for all the "get well" wishes{:?}. Our touring schedule as of this date will bring us to Australia and New Zealand in March, the West Coast of the USA in April and Japan (G3 w/ Vai/Petrucci) in May. I'm waiting to hear about a possible European Festival tour, when I know, you will too! Recording will most likely start in the fall. but, we might try a few things during the summer as well. Don't ask me what direction I'm going in with the new stuff, 'cause I don't know yet myself! Remember to check out our webcast that'll be happening in the sprint. I'll be back, [ Note:
Our planned webcast
recording in January was postponed due to Joe's illness but is now back
on! We'll be down in Anaheim in April |

Published: January 13, 2005 04:34 PM Joe Satriani had to scrap five year-end shows in December after contracting pneumonia, has rescheduled the dates. Originally set to take place between Dec. 28 and Jan. 1, the make-up dates in San Diego; Phoenix; Las Vegas; Ventura, CA; and Anaheim, CA, are now booked for early April. Details are shown on tour dates section Tickets for the original dates will be honored at the make-up performances, according to organizers. "Pneumonia is no fun at all and I don't recommend it to anyone, but hearing from all of you has eased my down time quite a bit," Satriani wrote in a message to fans posted at his website. "My recovery will hopefully continue and I will get a clean bill of health by the end of [January]. I was unable to post a 'Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year' message due to my illness, and as you know had to cancel most of the end of the year tour. Sorry about that." Just prior to being diagnosed with pneumonia, Satriani battled through back-to-back shows at The Fillmore in San Francisco on Dec. 26-27, despite already being seriously ill. "The two shows at the Fillmore seem like a fantastic fever induced dream," Satriani recalled of those shows. "Although I could barely breathe, I felt I had to perform as if my life depended on it. Every note was sacred to me." Before tackling the U.S. make-up shows, Satriani will head to Australia and New Zealand for a series of March dates. Plans are also in the works for some Japanese concerts, as well as performances at some European summer festivals. Also on the guitarist's schedule is an appearance at this month's annual International Music Products Association's NAMM convention in Anaheim, CA, where he's scheduled to debut a new Ibanez Chrome JS signature-series guitar, and a Peavey JSX Combo Amp. The convention takes place Jan. 20-23; more information is available at the event's website. |
Thank you all so very much for the "get well" messages, I believe they really made a difference. Pneumonia is no fun at all and I don't recommend it to anyone, but hearing from all of you has eased my down time quite a bit. Thank you again. My recovery will hopefully continue and I will get a clean bill of health by the end of the month... I was unable to post a "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" message due to my illness, and as you know had to cancel most of the end of the year tour. Sorry about that. Make-up shows are being booked as I write this... The two shows at the Fillmore seem like a fantastic fever induced dream. Although I could barely breathe, I felt I had to perform as if my life depended on it. Every note was sacred to me. As I played, the tsunami tragedy in South Asia weighed so heavily on my heart. It's still so hard to comprehend the suffering so many people have had to endure. The relief effort will need our continuing support (http://www.redcross.org/)...As well as our troops in Iraq who face incredible danger every day. Let's hope this year will bring some peace to the region, and a home-coming for our troops... This year will see me and the boys heading to Australia, New Zealand and Japan. We are looking into a few European summer festivals as well... Writing for a new record to be finished by the end of the year is also on the calendar... Later this month I will be at the NAMM show to debut a stunning new Ibanez Chrome JS guitar, and an awesome Peavey JSX Combo Amp, with reverb and a half power switch. I'll be stopping by the DiMarzio and D'Addario booths as well... Hope to see some of you there...Joe |
